Animals have always had a way of moving me one way or another from a very young age. My household growing up was never lacking a furry four-legged friend. I believe that many animals whether domesticated or living in the wild, are far more intelligent than many people give them credit for. However, the world seems to be changing and more and more people are adopting pets in need into their homes and spending time and donating money to animal awareness organizations. It is quite often I am scrolling through my social media feeds when a heartwarming story pops up regarding some animal that grabs my attention and pulls at my heart strings.
There are many places I have wanted to visit throughout the world to view these spectacular creatures since a young age. Now that I have a greater interest in photography, I really yearn to visit some if not all of the places on the list below.
iLHP is always trying to bring you new content. We’ve decided to welcome to the team a fantastic pro landscape/wildlife photographer who travels around the world. Nicolas Orillard is a very successful pro-photographer who will share his experience as a pro-photographer and talk about his fantastic travels around the world.
“Photography is for me the possibility to switch off the rest of the world, to come to peace. The time spend hiking, waiting for the light to come, watching the nature around me is my opportunity to get better. It is somehow a therapy.”
iLHP: Hi Nicolas, we’re very pleased to have you here at iLHP. You’re a pro photographer who travels a lot, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
iLHP: So Nicolas, we’re thrilled to have you in the team and can’t wait read your articles about your travels and your experience as a pro photographer. Can you tell us in a few words what you will be talking about?
I have always had an interest in taking photographs however, it was not until this past year that it became a real passion. In the past I had no interest in learning how to use my camera properly. When I purchased my Canon EOS 70D last September I was determined to learn the basic functions my camera had to offer.
I have always had a mental list of all the places I have wanted to visit. Now that photography has become an integral part of my life, my bucket list has changed dramatically.
Here is a list I compiled of all the places I would love to travel to and be able to capture through my lens:
10) Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon | Iceland
Jokulsarlson Glacier Lagoon is located in Vatnajokull National Park in the southeast region of Iceland. Due to the melting glaciers Jokulaslson became a lake and continues to grow. Today it is the deepest lake in Iceland. Since the 1970’s, the lake has quadrupled in size. The lagoon is considered to be a natural wonder of Iceland and one of the most visited places.
The scenery from pictures is fascinating because it is like nothing I have ever encountered before. Due to the extreme weather, Iceland is one destination I would never have considered.
