I have seen some spectacular sunsets around the world but there are still many places that I would love to travel to and capture with my lens. It is always exciting going to a new place and seeing new things for the first time. I love how each place has a uniqueness to it even if it is within the same country. Last summer I was out shooting a great deal in Toronto and every night the sky would paint a new picture for me to capture through my lens. The cityscape always had a different backdrop. Shooting at sunset into nightfall is one of my favorite times to start snapping.
Here are some of the places I hope to visit one day and have the pleasure of witnessing the sunset with my very own eyes:
Since I was wee I remember always having a fascination about visiting Africa and going on a safari. I am a huge animal lover and would love to be able to experience the sight of such spectacular animals in their natural habitat. Elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras and tigers are some of the most magnificent animals on the planet. It would be a dream come true to one day have the opportunity to capture both the animals and the sunsetting at the same time.
Alex Cearns is one of Australia’s most awarded pet and wildlife photographers. Her Houndstooth Studio is a leader in the market of animal portrait photography. Her natural animal handling skills, remarkable images and contribution to lives of rescued animals has earned her high regard across Australia’s animal lovers. With over 50 awards to her name since 2008 (including a nomination for the 2014 Australian of the Year) she has worked tirelessly to capture and showcase the essential joy that people find in animals.
I have always had an interest in taking photographs however, it was not until this past year that it became a real passion. In the past I had no interest in learning how to use my camera properly. When I purchased my Canon EOS 70D last September I was determined to learn the basic functions my camera had to offer.
I have always had a mental list of all the places I have wanted to visit. Now that photography has become an integral part of my life, my bucket list has changed dramatically.
Here is a list I compiled of all the places I would love to travel to and be able to capture through my lens:
10) Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon | Iceland
Jokulsarlson Glacier Lagoon is located in Vatnajokull National Park in the southeast region of Iceland. Due to the melting glaciers Jokulaslson became a lake and continues to grow. Today it is the deepest lake in Iceland. Since the 1970’s, the lake has quadrupled in size. The lagoon is considered to be a natural wonder of Iceland and one of the most visited places.
The scenery from pictures is fascinating because it is like nothing I have ever encountered before. Due to the extreme weather, Iceland is one destination I would never have considered.
