“Fringing”?! Photography Slang Explained

Photography can be a pretty mysterious world with a lot of weird slang that general public and amateurs, but also enthusiasts or even pros, find difficult to understand. Are you often confused by some of the things your photographer friends say? Like any hobby or pastime, there are common photography terms that we all come to learn, and then there is some of the more bizarre slang you can spend a lifetime behind the lens never understanding. Below we’ve compiled a collection of common photography slang and obscure camera acronyms to help lift the veil on their mystery.

My Introduction (Alyssa): Life Through My Lens

Hello everyone,

I am very honoured that Edward T. invited me to join him as well as other fellow photographers on this new exciting website collaboration.  I am especially flattered since I have been a huge fan of Edward’s work from the first time I saw his breathtaking images. Hopefully my images can inspire some of you,  just as Edward’s photos have inspired me.

My name is Alyssa and I currently live in Toronto, Canada. My background is in fashion design and  visual merchandising.  I lived most of my life in Toronto, however, for the past 12 years I have been living in Florida, California and most recently Paris, before moving  back to Toronto this past year.
