Bridal Looks for the 2015 Wedding Season

It’s no secret that wedding season is officially upon us! Many have started receiving save-the-dates and wedding invites, which can sometimes be met with an eye-roll, followed by a “here we go again!” However, for bridal photographers, this is when the work starts to come in, and wedding season is finally a time to get out there and make some money.

The same goes for lots of hair stylists and makeup artists, who must prepare for chaotic weekends filled with bobby pins, blowouts and false eyelashes. To celebrate Hurricane Wedding heading our way, I teamed up with one of my favorite bridal photographers, Hannah Wahl, and put together a collection of bridal looks for this wedding season.

The Trendy Bride

The Trendy Bride is a girl who looks to fashion magazines and blogs for inspiration for her wedding, rather than bridal ones. She’s modern and hip, her wedding venue could be at a cool bar with a live band.

Her groom opts for suspenders and rolled-up sleeves. Her eyeliner is bold, and her hair is piled up on her head in a messy bun. Her complexion is blushy, with shiny lips and a sun-kissed glow. This bride is ready to party. (Model: Katalina Biondi)

The Bohemian Bride

Our Bohemian Bride is one who will be sure to show up in your Facebook feed more than once this season! This ethereal look is for a free-spirited bride, who will most likely have an outdoor wedding with children and animals running around.

Her makeup is natural and minimal, with tousled waves and braids in her hair, adorned with a flower crown. You know there’s going to be someone at that wedding who brought their own guitar for the after party. (Model: Madeline Mangra)

The Classic Bride

The Classic Bride typically has a more formal wedding, of the black tie variety. Many brides from more traditional families (think East Coast) choose this timeless look. The makeup is noticeable, yet a neutral palette of colors is used to enhance her features.

This bride will typically go for a smooth up-do hairstyle, that wont move or fall out during the wedding. Veils and tiaras are very popular accessories to accompany an updo for such a classy gal. There’s no doubt she will be walking down the aisle to a string quartet, while her groom waits for her in his classic black and white tuxedo. (Model: MiYoung Margolis)

The Vintage Bride

The Vintage Bride is a lady with a flare for glamor and nostalgia. Perhaps she is your everyday woman has a always idolized old Hollywood classics, and wants to stretch her style boundaries to personify this on her special day.

Or this is truly the embodiment of her everyday pinup style, taken to a whole new level. Her first dance is an Etta James song, and her groom has a classic, hard-part haircut. Soft, pinned up waves under a bird cage veil, red lips, black liner and a smokey-eye are the staples for this look. (Model: Madeline Mangra)

When it comes to style, we are living in a time where anything goes. Not everyone has a cookie-cutter wedding these days, and young couples feel free to use their special day not only as an expression of their love, but who they are. One thing I’m certain of, is that it doesn’t matter what kind of wedding you have, if you hire the right professionals to help you out, you won’t regret it.
